Showing We Care
Village Bank is honored to participate in Community Impact Month!
Village Bank and all of our Villagers are proud to be involved members of our communities and we love celebrating COMMUNITY BANKING each and every day, especially to recognize the hard work of community banks responding to COVID-19. We love our community so much that during the month of September we are joining forces with fellow community banks, to participate in the Minnesota Bankers Association Community Impact Month. We are honored to participate in this wonderful program.
During the month of September, our Village has partnered with a number of organizations to give back to our community during a crucial time for community support.
One of our most exciting partners has been local school districts. To support the transition back to school, we were able to donate more than 500 Happy Villager masks to elementary schools in the St. Francis and Anoka-Hennepin School Districts. We reached out to school representatives in August to find out how our community bank could support the mission to bring kids back to school safely. Donating masks to be used by kids during the school day was the solution that our Village and school representatives developed together.
In addition to children in our community, our Village also embraced the #MaskUpMN mandate by creating Village Community Care Kits for our customers and local partners. The kits include a face mask, hand sanitizer, and lip balm, and were put together to do what we can to keep our community safe and healthy.
Our concerns for wellness included the financial health of local non-profits as well. Rather than pulling back on community contributions, our Village has made it a priority to continue giving generously. In September alone, our community bank has financially supported:
Our CEO, Don Kveton, his wife Jamie Kveton, and our entire Village were recognized by longtime community partner, Achieve Services, Inc., at their annual gala. We were presented with a 2020 Legacy Award for our continued partnership. Don and Jamie are inspired every day by the amazing work that Achieve Services does to provide opportunities to adults with disabilities in our community. Their love for Achieve is why our Village is passionate about supporting the organization through the Get On Board Blue Bus Sales campaign every October and Achieve Nut sales every holiday season, among other support campaigns throughout the year.
Community Impact Month is a time that our village has enjoyed highlighting our community involvement, but our Villagers are passionate about impacting our community all year round. We also received a National Community Bank Service Award from the Independent Community Bankers of America. We love to support our communities just as they’ve supported us because after all #BanksBuildMN and we are #CommunityStrong!
