Relationship Building in a Socially Distant World

By Aleesha Webb

I’m red and yellow, which means I’m an extroverted thinker and feeler. I want to do everything now and make it fun with my Village, so I’m struggling with this Social Distancing. I know it’s for the best, but not being with my Village to fuel those relationships in person has been challenging.

However, being a community banker means that the relationships we have built amongst our Village are critically important during this time of uncertainty. The local small businesses that have trusted our Village to build and grow their entrepreneurship dreams are relying on us to help them get through the negative impacts they’re experiencing today and the unknown challenges of tomorrow. Here’s how our Village is still putting relationships first even in a socially distant world:

  • Being proactive about our communication to our customers through several channels so they know we are still here to serve them
  • Calling on every client in our Village to remind them that we are here for them and we are stronger together as a community
  • Closely watching local, state, and federal news to notify our Village of the programs and resources available to them. If you have questions about any of these resources, contact one of Village Bank’s dedicated community bankers
  • Sharing how our clients are continuing to serve the community into digital resource pages on our website. If you’d like to take advantage of this free opportunity to promote your business fill out this form
  • Stepping up to show the meaning of ‘Community Strong’ by supporting our businesses with gift card purchases that go back to our amazing tellers and bankers on the front line of our Village.Blog Distant Relationships SF gift cards
  • Working with our local Chambers to share vital financial information to local businesses

By being courageous and putting our relationships with our Village first, we will make it through this together and be stronger as a community on the other side!

If your business is looking for a community bank partner that puts relationships above all else, please reach out to me so we can meet and I can learn more about what you and your business need to succeed.
