By Ted Schoeppach, Relationship Banker Earning your Business

Working for Village Bank for more than 20 years, I’ve become more friends than a banker to my customers.

What does FAMILY-BUILT mean to you?

We are a family at Village Bank. The family feeling starts at the top with Don and Aleesha, our CEO and President, and it flows down through our Village of employees and customers. I have customers come in all the time that have been with a big bank for years and they say, “They don’t even know me.” Then, the next time they come in to Village Bank we greet them by name. They appreciate that and it makes them feel important to be part of our Village family.

What does COMMUNITY-STRONG mean to you?

One of the best parts about Village Bank being a community bank is our Village Volunteers program. I’m encouraged by the leaders at the bank to volunteer my time in my community to charitable organizations that I am passionate about. My favorite place to volunteer my time is with the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce. I’m proud to be a face in the community that people realize and associate with Village Bank. I have pretty much lost my last name, and I’m just known as Ted from Village Bank. To me, being civic-minded as a bank is what being Community Strong is all about.

What do you value about working for a COMMUNITY BANK?

Working for Village Bank for more than 20 years, I’ve become more friends than a banker to my customers. I know their stories and their families. I’ve actually worked with five generations of one family! I’ve helped my customers through all their biggest milestones—weddings, having children, running their businesses, and building their lives. I get to be part of all those things in a small way, and I really enjoy that.
