JEFF ROSSEAUSENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, COMMERCIAL BANKER Meet Jeff Rosseau, senior vice president and commercial lender at Village Bank. With 15 years at Village Bank, Jeff has that critical “inside-and-out” knowledge of small business fundamentals, and can assist business owners with small business financing, lines of credit, start up loans, business credit cards and acquisition lending. “I grew up working in a family business so I have a good understanding of the value and importance of what a good banking relationship means to a small business,” Jeff says. Jeff worked alongside his father, whom he called his “professional role model” at their family-owned grocery store. It was from his father where Jeff learned first hand “the importance of having a good work ethic, to not just meet expectations but to exceed them, and the value of holding yourself accountable to those standards.” Those lessons translate beautifully to the culture at Village Bank. “Over the past few years, I have been most active in the residential construction, land development, and investment residential real estate lending opportunities so I am able to provide valuable insight into each one of those transaction types,” Jeff says. In spite of today’s high interest rates, Jeff says there exists plenty of opportunities for businesses. “It is more important than ever to understand the expected return on investment, and to stress the cash flow with an even higher interest rate,” he says, “in order to have a good understanding of what that may look like if rates continue to rise.” Jeff says he leans on his years of experience in the banking industry as well as his extensive network, which has proven to be successful in navigating through customer challenges. “I love my job because we get to be the resource for our clients to reach the next chapter in their business. It provides me great satisfaction knowing we played a part in making their dreams become a reality.” Jeff also likes that Village Bank is a local, family-owned community bank that invests back into the local economy to assist Main Street businesses grow and prosper. Having grown up dependent upon one of those kinds of businesses, he understands the important role community banks have in supporting local economies. Jeff and his wife, Kristin, have three children: Evyn (17), Jackson (13), and Kennedy (11). With the children active in youth sports, the family stays busy. In his limited free time, Jeff plays hockey and golf; he’s also an avid bicyclist. “I typically ride about 2,000 miles per year.”
