IMPACTING the Community

Village Bank is honored to participate in Community Impact Month!

Village Bank and all of our Villagers are proud to be involved members of our communities and we love celebrating COMMUNITY BANKING each and every day! We love our community so much that during the month of September we are joining forces with fellow community banks, to participate in the Minnesota Bankers Association Community Impact Month. We are honored to participate in this wonderful program!

During the month of September, each of our four branches will participate in a community event to further reinforce our passion to be involved in the community:

Blaine- As school began this year, we wanted to send our local students to class with some awesome school supplies. Our Village Bank branches collected school supplies from generous community members and our villagers to donate to St. Francis area schools and HOPE 4 Youth.

Through their generosity we donated 360 crayons, 50 markers, 96 colored pencils, 206 pencils, 16 packs of Kleenexes, 31 pencil erasers, 56 pens, 1 calculator, 2 pencil sharpeners, 15 pencil boxes, 26 folders, 22 notebooks, 6 packs of loose-leaf paper, 14 Expo markers, 10 bottles of glue, 34 glue sticks, 4 backpacks, 2 binders, 2 water bottles, 2 lunch boxes, and 10 food items!

Ramsey- As a village, we participated in the Ramsey Happy Days parade. For the 14th year in a row, our villagers and their families walked in the parade and threw candy to community members in Ramsey. Parades are always fun to bring our villager families together with the community and enjoy a day celebrating the communities that we live and work in.

East Bethel- This year we want to help a family in our community have the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER! In order to accomplish this we will be partnering with the nonprofit organization Best Christmas Ever to give a local family that has fallen on tough times due to no fault of their own a Christmas they will always remember.

During the month of September, we will promote nominations of deserving local families and begin collecting donations from our village. To follow along our timeline or donate check out our social media channels and fundraising page.

St. Francis- Our village has a long history of community involvement that all started with Jim Smith, Village Bank’s first president. Jim was passionate about helping his community reach their financial goals, and his partnership with Don Kveton to charter Village Bank in 1993 made that passion come to life.

On September 5, our villagers attended the Jim Smith Foundation Golf Tournament. The proceeds benefited the University of Minnesota Foundation to support Pulmonary Fibrosis research, education, patient care, and community outreach at the Center for Lung Science and Health.

Community Impact Month is a time that our village has enjoyed highlighting our community involvement, but our villagers are passionate about impacting our community all year round. We love to support our communities just as they’ve supported us because after all #BanksBuildMN!
